ACCE Member Alert: Employment Scam

Alexandria, VA -

ACCE was informed by a member about a job scam targeted toward chamber employees. From the Chamber:

"Apparently, scam artists are able to fake call ID numbers.  They contacted an executive at a small Chamber in another state, using the phone number for our main phone line and my name. They say that the Seattle Chamber has a job opening for an executive position at a very high salary and that we would like to schedule a phone interview.  They hold the phone interview and then tell the victim that they want to fly him out for a face to face meeting.  A ticket will be waiting for him at the airport but first for tax reasons they need a social security number and a bank account number."

Please be on the alert for any requests for this type of financial information.
